The winter patrol program has now started. Bett and Sandy McPhee will continue to check cottages twice monthly through until mid May. The tags they normally punch after each visit are back ordered. If you haven’t received a new tag yet, they will be coming soon.
If you haven’t signed on for winter patrol, please do so right away. For only $33 for the entire season, your cottage will be checked twice monthly for weather damage or break ins – a small price to pay for your peace of mind. For more details, check the registration form.

Last fall, the Works Department sprayed the Phragmites grass on the beach at French Bay in an attempt to control the spread of this invasive alien grass. This is a first step in a process that will very likely take many years.
The director team will continue to monitor the grass and keep in contact with the Band regarding the control of Phragmites.
Cottagers directly on the beach are encouraged to cut the invasive beach grass on or near their lots. Please make sure you bag or burn the cut grass after cutting. Failure to do so will facilitate the spread of the grass and do more harm than good.
The Friends of Sauble Beach website contains a wealth of information.
The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation has provided us with a helpful write-up that can be viewed here.
